For ten years, Michael practiced in private firms and the public sector before leaving the law to run an arts business focused on working with young families.

He decided to make a career change after realizing that the strictly legalistic approach to disputes often overlooked important human elements. People in conflict experience emotional, psychological, financial, social, and spiritual challenges, and the law often provides finality without true resolution for the participants.

Seeking a more holistic way to help people in conflict, Michael turned to mediation, combining his legal background with a broader, more human-centered approach. He has been a mediator and collaborative attorney with ReSolutions since 2008.

Michael continues to work with the Center for Mediation in Law’s Support and Development Practice Group. He is a member of the Family and Divorce Mediation Council of Greater New York and the New York State Council on Divorce Mediation, regularly attending continuing education seminars.

He is a former member of the Family Divorce & Mediation Council (FDMC) Board of Directors and currently serves on the Continuing Education Committee.
